This week, Beaufort Soil and Water Conservation District -- in cooperation with Goose Creek State Park -- sponsored the 16th annual Dan Windley Environmental Field Days. In the past few days. more than 500 fifth-grade students, teachers, chaperones and volunteers visited Goose Creek and learned about soils, soil and water conservation, wildlife, forestry, wetlands and aquatics.
